Te Kuri a Paoa

This week for art we drew Te Kuri a  Paoa, We used pastle's and black paper. I drew the outline of the Kuri first, and then I used a yellow pastels to colour in  the top of it, after that step I used the brown to colour in the under belly. I used the green to draw a line on the top of the belly, I also used the black to do the outside shape.
Here is my artwork of Te Kuri a Paoa:

I enjoyed drawing the moon, because it brings out the background.

I found it hard to draw the outline of the kuri, In my mind I was thinking of a hyena and a wolf and that's how I created my kuri.

I found it easy to draw the moon, as I look at many moons and know the shape.

  1. Kia ora Sam,
I think your kurī looks amazing. What a great idea to think of a hyena and a wolf. I love the backgound of purple and blue. How did you make it look like that? Maybe you could explain how you layered one colour over the other and then update your blog.
